The following insurance and related benefits are provided by the Club at no cost to all full-time permanent employees. They are described in detail in booklets supplied by the carrier or provider and can be explained to you by a Human Resources representative. All benefits begin on the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.

Fitness/Wellness Benefit
If you have a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts managed care plan; you, or a family member, can receive up to $150 per calendar year toward your club membership fees when enrolled in a qualified health club or fitness facility. Restrictions apply. Details are available in the Fitness Benefit brochure.
Flexible Spending Accounts
These optional flexible spending accounts allow certain tax advantages and are governed by specific Federal regulations. They are available to permanent full-time employees. Contact Human Resources for details.

Dependent Care Account
The Club sponsors a Dependent Care Account which allows you to deduct a part of your income on a pre-taxed basis. The money going into a Dependent Care account can be used for approved dependent care programs. This may include approved care for children, a disabled family member, or for elder care. Employees forfeit all unused monies left in the Dependent Care Accounts as of June 30 th.
Medical Reimbursement Account
The Club sponsors a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) which allows you to deduct a part of your income on a pre-tax basis. The money going into an FSA is not subject to Social Security and federal and state income taxes. This pre-taxed money can be used for paying your medical premium, dental care costs, and approved out-of-pocket health care costs. Employees forfeit all unused monies left in the Medical Reimbursement Account as of June 30 th.
Savings and Retirement Plan
The Club provides a 401(k) retirement plan to those who are at least 21 years of age, have completed one year of service, and have worked at least 1,000 hours in the year. Contact a Human Resources Representative for details.
Workers' Compensation
All employees are covered by Workers’ Compensation Insurance in accordance with state law. If you have a work-related accident this insurance compensates you for medical expenses and lost income until you are able to return to work.
lf you are injured on the job notify your supervisor immediately to ensure that you receive the proper care. Then complete an accident report for any injury requiring treatment, no matter how minor. Failure to report injuries at the time of occurrence could result in forfeiture of insurance coverage.
Other Club Benefits
All permanent full-time employees are entitled to the following Club benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous employment unless otherwise noted.
Air Fare Discount
There is no discount on air fare, but the Club will waive the $25.00 per person fee for an eligible employee and one guest. Available to all permanent employees on the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.
Auto Insurance Commission Refund
If you insure your auto with AAA Pioneer Valley you will receive the commission paid to the Insurance Agency for the automobile you regularly drive to work. You are eligible to insure your auto with AAA Pioneer Valley immediately upon hire, you must maintain continuous employment for at least one year, and still be employed by the Club at the time of renewal. The commission will be refunded to you at the expiration of the policy term.
Club Membership
Employees receive a free AAA Plus or AAA Premier membership. Memberships will be renewed each year at no cost to you. You are required to pay the standard membership cost for any Associate memberships you wish to add to your membership.
Travel Commission Refund
Travel Commission Refunds are available to all employees and one companion on personal travel.
- Travel must be booked on or after the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.
- You must still be employed by the Club when your travel is completed.
- Any commissions will be refunded to you upon completion of you travel.
Travel Store Discounts
The Travel Store may offer discounts on movie tickets, attraction tickets, or other travel store retail items. Discounts are based on the item, not a flat-rate. The discount, if offered, is available to all permanent employees on the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.
Bereavement
In the event of death in the immediate family, the Club may grant time off with pay on the following basis:

Holidays
The Club is closed for the regularly observed holidays listed below. All permanent full-time employees are eligible for 7.5 hours of holiday pay for each of the regularly observed holidays. Part-time and Seasonal employees are not eligible to receive holiday pay from AAA Pioneer Valley.

The following rules apply to Call Center and Dispatch Employees
Holiday Schedule – Regular Holidays
The Call Center will be open regular hours (7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
- All employees are required to work their normally scheduled days.
- Full-time permanent employees will receive their regular pay for hours worked plus 7.5 hours of holiday pay.
- Part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees are not eligible for holiday pay from AAA Pioneer Valley.
Holiday Schedule – Special Holidays
Special Holidays are Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Thanksgiving – The Call Center will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (reduced staff – shorter shifts)
Christmas Day and New Year’s Day – The Call Center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (reduced staff – shorter shifts)
- All employees are required to work their normally scheduled days.
- All employees will earn double pay for hours worked.
- Full-time permanent employees who work on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day will also receive 7.5 hours of holiday pay.
- Part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees are not eligible for holiday pay from AAA Pioneer Valley.

Jury Duty
Jury Duty service is an individual’s civic obligation. If you are selected for Jury Duty the Club will honor this obligation. and will pay the difference between your regular rate of pay and the Jury Duty pay.
If you are selected for Jury Duty you must notify your supervisor immediately. You must submit your duty summons, record of jury compensation, and other required documents in order to receive the jury duty pay allowance from the Club. You are expected to report to work at the Club when the court schedule permits.
Military Leave
All full-time employees required to report for annual duty as a reservist or a member of the National Guard should notify their immediate supervisor. The Club will reimburse you for the difference between your regular straight time pay and your gross military pay for a maximum of two weeks. To be eligible for military leave pay, you must have completed one year of continuous employment on the date you report for military service. When returning to work, you must provide the Club with a military pay voucher reflecting gross wages paid to you while on active service.
If you are required to serve in the military for an extended period of time, a leave of absence for the required service will be granted. An employee returning from active military service will be entitled to all rights and privileges in accordance with existing federal and state laws.
Direct Deposit
Your weekly pay can be deposited directly into a specified bank account.
Vacation Time Allowance
All permanent full-time employees are eligible to earn vacation time. Part-time, Temporary, and Seasonal employees are not eligible.
- Eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of continuous service
- Accumulate 1 vacation day/month of continuous service
- Accumulate a maximum of 5 vacation days in the first 12 months of continuous service

Sick Leave/Personal Time
The sick leave / personal time off is designed to protect your earnings should an illness or personal reason cause you to be absent from work. All full-time employees receive five (5) sick leave and three (3) personal days each calendar year.
